An old snag stands like a sentry in Cooks Meadow, overlooking Yosemite Fall. The fall is actually a 'snow' fall. The water coming over the top, and as it falls (spreading into a mist), freezes and turns into snow. There is a huge 'snow cone' at the bottom of the fall. During the winter of 2016, this old snag fell and is no longer watching over Cooks Meadow and Yosemite Fall. After so many years of service, RIP.
